Family Farming is in our blood!

Production agriculture is at the center of our life.  We live and breathe agriculture from the middle of the night when a cow needs assistance having a calf to the heat of the summer when we are trying to fix a broken irrigation system to water the corn.  Our world of agriculture is truly a 24/7, 365 days a year love of agriculture.  Our goal is provide a high quality food product to our consumer while maintaining the highest standards in animal care, food safety, and environmental responsibility creating a synergy amongst our different enterprises!

Family First!

My husband, Brian, and I are the 6th generation to live and work on Maricle Family Farms south of Albion, NE.  Our five children: Austin, Carson, Cody, Cassidy, and Katerina farm beside and with us along with our parents, Keith and Mary Ann Maricle and Bob and Patty Esch.

I grew up in the Grocery Store that my parents still own and spent a lot of time at my Grandparents' farms developing a love of all things related to agriculture, especially cattle!

Livestock

Our cattle herd has an Angus base with an F1 Simmental Angus cross calf being produced.  We sell all of our calves, purchase heifers, and lease bulls to continually improve our cow/calf genetics.  We finish fat hogs in an all-in/all-out modified open front building after purchasing them as feeders from a fellow pork producer.  The kids raised lamb this summer for their 4-H projects, so we have began to expand our high protein meat palate!

Crops

Corn and soybeans are our main crops with a bit of hay and rye to help provide feed for our livestock.  We grow corn to sell as a commodity crop, but we also grind it for hog and cattle feed and chop corn for silage to feed the cows during the winter.  This fall we even baled our cornstalks to make use of every available feed source.

Living on a farm that has been around for over 140 years provides us the exciting challenge of adapting with farming techniques that will take our farm into the hands of the next generation.  The best part of our day is being able to watch our children learn from their grandparents.
